About the project
The study led by Mathematica seeks to understand how wage digitization was implemented by factories that received the government stimulus package, factors that influenced factories’ decision to digitize wages following the stimulus period, and barriers to wage digitization from the factory and worker perspectives. The evidence generated from the study will have implications for scale-up of wage digitization and gender-intentional design.
For this project, Research and Policy Integration for Development (RAPID) and Mathematica Inc. team is engaged in collection of primary data from various key stakeholders including representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Bangladesh Bank, BGMEA/BKMEA and also concerned persons of major mobile financial service providers (bKash, Rocket and Nagad) and commercial banks.
