Md Jahid Ebn Jalal

Md Jahid Ebn Jalal is an accomplished researcher currently pursuing a Ph.D. in World Economy at the School of Economics, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL), Wuhan. He holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, and an M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU). His extensive professional experience includes roles as a Research Fellow at the Bureau of Socioeconomic Research and Training, BAU, Programme Officer for Monitoring & Evaluation at WaterAid Bangladesh, and Senior Research Associate at the South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (SANEM).
Md Jahid has a proven track record in designing and implementing research projects, analyzing data, and publishing scholarly articles. His work spans various domains, including poverty, inequality, social protection, governance, agriculture, environment, and the world economy. He has collaborated with international organizations such as UNDP, UNICEF, USAID, and BMGF, significantly contributing to socio-economic research and policy development. Notably, he has substantial experience working with the General Economic Division (GED) of the Government of Bangladesh, contributing to several significant policy documents, including mid-term review of the 7th FYP, background studies for the 8th Five Year Plan, social protection, and institutional governance. Md Jahid is highly skilled in quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analysis using tools such as STATA, R, E-views, QGIS, and Vos-viewer, and he has expertise in survey design and implementation on both online and offline platforms.
