
Emran Hasan
Deputy Director
Emran Hasanis an applied economics researcher focusing on health, labour market and social protection. He completed his undergraduate and masters degrees in Economics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. His overarching goal is to inform evidence-based policy by analysing and drawing insights from the household survey data. He approaches this by taking advantage of cutting-edge microeconometric techniques. Moreover, he is skilled in policy evaluation employing causal inference techniques.
Over the past several years, Emran has been deeply involved in multiple projects commissioned by different national and international organisations, including ILO, UNICEF, UNDP, ADB, UNESCAP, and Bangladesh Enterprise Institute. While working on these projects, he has developed additional expertise in developing roadmaps/action plans, designing awareness-raising strategies, and conducting capacity-building workshops with tripartite-plus stakeholders.
Previously, Emran was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).
