Dr Mohammad Abdur Razzaque is an economist specializing in applied international trade and development issues with extensive senior leadership and management experience. He has vast experience of undertaking empirical analysis of emerging issues in the global trade and the resultant trade implications for countries. Previously, he worked for many years at Commonwealth Secretariat, London, UK, in various capacities including Head of International Trade Policy. Prior to that, he taught at Dhaka University economics department. He has led and managed numerous multi-country (involving sub-Saharan African, South Asian, Caribbean, and Pacific economies) and Bangladesh-specific policy research and capacity-building projects. He has edited several books/volumes and written extensively on such issues as trade policy and negotiation challenges, LDC graduation, regional integration, and impact of policy changes on trade performance. On these and other applied development issues, he is widely consulted by international and regional organizations. He possesses first-hand experience of working with senior government officials in many countries. On several occasions, he has made technical presentations before the G20 Development Working Group. He has also been called to provide evidence before House of Lords and House of Commons Committees of the UK Parliament.
