China's economy has been transformed to become the world's leading exporter and an economic superpower. At $20 trillion, China has the second-largest economy in the world. By purchasing power parity (PPP), China has the largest economy in the world. China is the second-largest importer of goods, with a market worth $2.7 trillion. Over a hundred Chinese cities have over one million consumers. This nation will soon have the most consumers.

Chinese partners may offer finance, new markets, and cutting-edge technology. Beginning in 2021, China will offer duty-free access to 98 percent of Bangladesh's tariff lines. Bangladesh formerly had access to the Chinese market in 61 percent of tariff lines. Covid-19 has affected Bangladesh's exports to China. Bangladesh exports ready-made garments, jute, fish, and leather to China.

This undertaking is a collaboration between RAPID and the Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI). It establishes a formal collaboration between RAPID and BCCCI to promote action-oriented research, evidence-based policy lobbying, and awareness building in order to promote Bangladesh-China trade and economic cooperation for the benefit of the private sector and the strengthening of Bangladesh's economic growth.
