Mr. Zubayer Hossen a Bangladeshi economist, brings extensive experience in research and policy advocacy. With a strong academic background in Economics from the University of Dhaka, his work spans a wide range of critical areas including poverty and inequality, investment, trade, climate change, blue economy, employment, sectoral productivity, ready-made garments, economic governance, unpaid domestic work, social protection, innovative financing solutions for the SDGs, and green growth. Before joining RAPID, he led the UK government-funded Transformative Economic Policy Programme (TEPP) at UNDP Bangladesh and played a key role in coordinating UNDP’s efforts on LDC graduation in Bangladesh. Throughout his career, he has made a significant impact in economic research, contributing to policy solutions for national development. Mr. Hossen’s greatest career aspiration is to support Bangladesh in evidence-based policymaking, driving a more sustainable and inclusive future.
