The Analysis of the Situation of Children in Bangladesh
The latest Analysis of the Situation of Children was conducted by RAPID in collaboration with UNICEF and the General Economic Division (GED) of the Planning Commission, Government of Bangladesh.
The Analysis of the Situation of Children in Bangladesh 2019, hereafter called as SitAn 2019, is a living document to shed lights on the existing status of child well-being while also identifying the current gaps and inequalities which require both immediate and long-term attention. The SitAn 2019 is a follow-up in the series of the previous exercises taken up twice in every decade as a unique blend of efforts by the General Economic Division (GED) of the Planning Commission of Bangladesh as well as the UNICEF. As a flagship document, SitAn 2019 is aimed at informing the UNICEF Country Program 2021-2025 and the 8th Five-Year plan 2021-2025 of the Government of Bangladesh. The SitAn 2019 aspires to analyze the country context, system and institutions, the extent of establishment of child rights, and the access, opportunities and impacts of social services for children in Bangladesh. Moreover, it also aims to help policy makers to frame priorities, to evaluate the implemented services, and to accelerate progress towards ensuring children’s rights and well-being in the country.
